About Washington, DC

Aside from being our nation's capital, Washington, D.C. is a great place to live with many choices for recreation and lifestyles. There are a plethora of cultural activities, entertainment, shopping, festivals, outdoor recreation, and great restaurants available all year. GW is centrally located downtown off the Foggy Bottom metro stop. We are within walking distance of the National Mall, where you will find the majority of the Smithsonian Museums and national monuments, Georgetown, and Dupont Circle.

The DC region offers a variety of getaways within a few hours drive, such as the beach (Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware shores), mountains (Shenandoah National Park nearby) or large cities (Baltimore, Annapolis, Wilmington, Philadelphia, and New York). Many of these locations are accessible via bus or train if you do not have a car.
