New Physician Advisor for Office of International Medicine Programs

Dr. Jeffrey Berger has been appointed as physician advisor for the Office of International Medicine Programs. Dr. Berger has been a member of The George Washington University Department of Anesthesiology since August 2007 and has been serving in a number of capacities. He is currently Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology; and Director, Residency Program; and Director, Obstetric Anesthesiology. In addition to his medical credentials, Dr. Berger also holds an MBA degree from Duke University.

Dr. Berger played an integral part in the development of the anesthesia international residency rotation in Quito, Ecuador, the first to be approved by the American Board of Anesthesia, paving the way for other U.S. medical schools to set up similar international rotations. With his strong leadership, skills, credentials, and commitment to developing international programs, Dr. Berger will be a valuable addition to the School’s international team. As physician advisor, Dr. Berger will work closely with members of the Office of International Medicine Programs to design and implement education and training programs and provide guidance and resources to faculty, students, staff, visitors, and partner institutions.
