In February 2016, Rebecca M. Lynch, PhD, has been appointed as a new Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Tropical Medicine at the George Washington University. Dr. Lynch joins the researchers at the GW Research Center for the Eradication of HIV in their quest to develop novel and innovative HIV eradication strategies with her expertise in HIV antibodies and vaccine research.
Prior to joining MITM, Dr. Lynch was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Vaccine Research Institute at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, where she investigated the properties of broadly-neutralizing HIV antibodies. At GW, Dr. Lynch will investigate the impact of broadly neutralizing antibodies on both the virus and infected cells to explore new avenues for the development of potent preventative and therapeutic agents against HIV infection. In her research career, Dr. Lynch has published over 20 research articles to date and is the holder of a K22 career transition award.
