About the Lab

Welcome

The Khan lab is part of the Research Center for Neglected Diseases of Poverty, based in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Tropical Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Our research focuses on the characterization of the immune response to infection with the protozoan parasite Toxoplasma gondii, in particular, memory CD8+ T cell responses and cytokine profiles during chronic toxoplasmosis, as well as infection with parasitic microsporidia species relevant for human diseases, including Encephalitozoon cuniculi.
