The IMPACT Initiative supports faculty in both the scholarship of discovery (original research in the health sciences) and the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL). Mary Corcoran, the Dean of Faculty Development provides individual support and guidance. Our Lunch & Learn series allows faculty to discuss works in progress, learn about each other's scholarly activities, and share lessons learned. Below are additional ways in which we support the scholarly activities of the Health Sciences faculty.
The Emerging Scholars program provides pilot grant money to HS faculty and staff to support scholarly projects.
We have an IRB approved research protocol for Health Sciences faculty interested in studying innovations in their course. Paige McDonald is the PI and welcomes faculty to collaborate in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
The SMART Lab staff assist faculty with producing media for scholarly activities, including videos, graphics, images, posters, and online learning modules.
In our role as a network hub for scholarly activities in the Health Sciences Programs, we maintain a list of resources for faculty.
