Instructional Technology

The IMPACT team is available to help faculty use instructional technology. We are happy to answer questions big or small and help identify the best tool to help you meet your instructional goals. This section contains how-tos for some of the most commonly questions. It is a mix of instructions we created for Health Sciences faculty and material created by others.

How-tos are provided for test/quizzes, assignments, and Blackboard Collaborate, which is used for web conferencing/meetings.

Course Materials

This page includes resources on how to make your materials more accessible, create durable links to course readings, and resize images.

Doceri is used to annotate documents, slides, videos, photos and webpages, either in-class or online. It is also used to control classroom computers from the user's iPad.

Online presentations and videos

Learn how to create and share narrated presentations, strategies for maximizing learning from your presentations, and improve the quality of your webcam recordings.

Panopto is used for classroom lecture capture, but is also a powerful tool for sharing narrated presentations, mini lectures, or lab demonstrations with multiple video angles and/or screen capture.

Poll Everywhere

Starting the fall of 2015 Poll Everywhere will be used as the new student response system in SMHS, replacing clickers. Here we provide resources on how to use it.

VoiceThread is tool that allows for asynchronous discussions about an image, document, or video using voice, video, and/or text. Here we provide VoiceThread resources for both faculty and students.
