Lisa W. Martin

Assistant Professor of Medicine and Director of the Lipid Clinic

Dr. Martin was the Cholesterol Management Program – Cardiac Prevention Program medical director for Kaiser Permanente in the Mid-Atlantic Region prior to joining The George Washington University.

Dr. Martin received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University in Applied Mathematics, and her medical degree at the University of Florida with Honors in Research. She did her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital and fellowship in Cardiology at The George Washington University. She was on the faculty at the University of Maryland before joining Kaiser Permanente.

Dr. Martin’s interests are in all aspects of preventive measures against coronary artery disease, with the emphasis on lipid disorders. Her goals include patient education so that the patients are able to fully participate in strategies to prevent coronary artery disease and recurrent events.
