Richard Katz, MD, serves as the chairman of the Board and the director of the Institute. He is responsible for safeguarding the Institutes reputation and credibility, ensuring progress in implementing goals, programs and campaigns, and fostering an environment that attracts and energizes outstanding volunteer leaders. Dr. Katz oversees the Institutes staff and works closely with the executive director in the management of the Institutes operations.
Jessica Johnson is executive director of the George Washington University Heart & Vascular Institute. She brings more than 20 years of non-profit leadership experience in the healthcare industry to the position. As executive director, Ms. Johnson manages the Institute’s operations, program development, external affairs, and board relations. Ms. Johnson has been with the Institute since 2007. Prior to joining GW, Ms. Johnson was director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Charleston, SC.
