GW Healing Clinic Outreach Program receives a $2,500 grant

November 13, 2013

The GW Healing Clinic Outreach Program recently received a $2,500 grant from GW's Public Service Grant Commission (PSGC) to fund healthy cooking demonstrations and blood pressure clinics around the District of Columbia! We are partnering with various community clinics and farmer's markets to improve knowledge about healthy foods and lifestyles with the goal of combating diabetes, hypertension, and obesity through behavior change. Congratulations to Madden Rowell, Director of GW Healing Clinic Outreach and second year medical student, for being awarded this grant to support this volunteer effort. Also, a special thanks goes out to the GW PSGC and all our fantastic Healing Clinic Outreach volunteers.
