The Research Team

The Evaluating Cancer Survivorship Care Models project is complex and requires a multi-disciplinary approach. The core research team includes public health and health services researchers, cancer survivorship experts and clinicians from the GW Milken Institute School of Public Health, the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Oncology and Internal Medicine.  The core research team members include:

Holly Mead, PhD (Principal Investigator) – GW Milken Institute School of Public Health, Department of Health Policy

Mandi Pratt-Chapman, MA (Co-Principal Investigator) – GW Cancer Institute (housed within the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences). Ms. Chapman oversees the strategic, administrative, programmatic and fiscal operations of the GW Cancer Institute. Her research focus is on patient-centered care.

Sean Cleary, PhD (Co-Investigator) - GW Milken Institute School of Public Health, Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics

April Barbour, MD, MPH (Co-Investigator) – GW Medical Faculty Associates

Khaled el-Shami, MD, PhD (Co-Investigator) – GW Medical Faculty Associates

Deena Loeffler, MA (Project Manager) – GW Cancer Institute (housed within the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences). Ms. Loeffler oversees day-to-day project activities.

Maya Gerstein, MPH, DrPH Candidate (Research Scientist) - GW Milken Institute School of Public Health, Department of Health Policy. Ms. Gerstein works closely with Dr. Mead for the project.
