Evaluating Cancer Survivorship Care Models: Project Activities

Project Activities: April 2015

Research Update

We worked with the Cancer Support Community to host focus groups with survivors of breast, prostate or colorectal cancer at five sites across the country and recently drafted site-specific reports describing results from the focus groups.

Based on focus group findings, we created a Patient-Prioritized Framework for Quality Care. The framework was validated with survivors, including those who serve on the project's Community Advisory Board.

Current Work

The ongoing comparative effectiveness research phase is looking at how different types of post-treament survivorship care programs at cancer centers impact patient-centered outcomes.

We are gathering data from patients and clinicians at more than 15 sites after survivors' first post-treatment survivorship visit. We are looking at how the visit impacts outcomes such as patient satisfaction and health-related quality of life.
