Main Auditorium (Basement Level)
Happy New Year! We look forward to working with you in 2014 to develop innovative programs to improve community health. At our next meeting, on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, we would like to begin with an update on the mission and progress of our co-sponsor, the Rodham Institute. We also want to feature YOUR health innovation ideas. We will host the first community health innovation competition in which you will present your ideas for a pilot that will improve health outcomes and patient experience while lowering health care costs and decreasing health disparities.
Each presenter will have 10 minutes to share their ideas for a pilot in the following format:
- Specific Aims of pilot
- Pilot Methods
- Evaluation plan
- Rationale for impact on health, patient experience, cost, health disparities
- Plan for grant submission
- Team, and plans for student involvement
- Future dissemination and provider education plan
- Budget $5000 pilot
Up to four applications will be selected for presentations. Each presentation will be 10 minutes with 10 minutes for discussion. At the end of the presentations the audience will vote for the pilot most likely to result in a successful grant application. We will include community presentations at each of the subsequent seminars, until all interested community members have had a chance to present. At the last conference of the year in May, the community members with the highest scores will be asked to present their pilot concepts once more and the winning team will receive the DC Community Health Innovation Award and $5000 to support their pilot and grant application.
