This talk describes main classes of Primary Immune Deficiency diseases resulting in defective antibody production and their pathophysiological mechanism. Focus is on a laboratory diagnosis of PID.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe genetics and pattern of inheritance of different classes of humoral PID.
  • Characterize the course of different types of PID.
  • Discuss diagnostic workup of PID and algorithms of differential diagnosis.
