2019 GW AΩA Visiting Professor Grand Rounds

In recognition of the contribution of community-based providers to the teaching of residents and students at the university, at the Banquet we will honor our 2019 Voluntary Clinical Faculty Award recipient Randi Abramson, MD. A graduate of the GW Primary Care residency program(GWRES,91’), Dr Abramson serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Bread for the City. She is a recipient the Gold Humanism in Medicine Honorary Award, the AMA’s Pride in Profession Award, the Metropolitan Washington Public Health Award and DCPCA’s Distinguished Caregiver Award as well as being a previous recipient of the GWU Outstanding Preceptor Award and the ACP’s Community-Based Teaching Award.

Every year, a distinguished alumnus is identified by the Dean’s Office for induction. The alumnus inductee for 2019 is Gail Rosseau, MD. Dr Rosseau is a graduate of the medical school and residency programs (GWUSMHS 85’, GWRES 86’,91’); she continues to serve the school and lends her expertise to the GWU Global Surgery Working Group. Dr Rosseau has a distinguished career in academics, mentoring and teaching; she has held multiple significant leadership roles at the departmental level and continues to remain active in both national and international organizations including, but not limited to, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, World Health Organization, World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies, Foundation for International Education in Neurologic Surgery, Women in Neurosurgery and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
