DC HAPP is a pipeline program for Washington, DC public high school rising seniors and juniors with backgrounds underrepresented in medicine (URM) who have a demonstrated interest in pursuing a health profession.
As a DC HAPP mentor, you will support the development of three to five rising high school juniors and seniors during the summer program and beyond. Your leadership, role modeling, and teaching will help inspire students to pursue a healthcare profession and help build their academic path to a career in medicine.
The program runs weekdays during the month of July with training sessions and working meetings in advance of the program.
If you are interested in serving as a DC HAPP mentor, applications will be available in December. Please contact Jinny Jang, Assistant Director, SMHS Office of Diversity and Inclusion, at firstname.lastname@example.org, with any questions.
