It is our pleasure to announce that Jonathan Silverberg, MD, PhD, MPH has joined the GW Medical Faculty Associates Department of Dermatology. Dr. Silverberg is a world renowned Board-certified Dermatologist that specializes in atopic dermatitis (eczema) and contact dermatitis, as well as other chronic inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis, uticaria, blistering diseases, alopecia areata, and vitiligo. He is a national expert in contact dermatitis and will be directing the Patch Testing service at GW, including patch testing for allergic contact dermatitis, phototesting for photosensitive disorders and photopatch testing for photoallergic contact dermatitis. He will see patients at the District of Columbia location - 2150 Pennsylvania Ave NW in Washington, DC, beginning October 2019. He will also see patients at the Bethesda location - 4920 Elm Street, Suite 250, in Bethesda, Maryland in the near future.
Dr. Silverberg’s research interests include drug development, clinical trial design, biomarkers, dermato-epidemiology, health services research, patient-reported outcomes, comorbidities and burden of itch and inflammatory skin disease and evidence-based dermatology. His publications include more than 600 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts and book chapters. He is also the author of the Clinical Management of Atopic Dermatitis handbook. Dr. Silverberg has also been a local, national and/or international principal investigator for numerous clinical trials for novel treatments in atopic dermatitis and other inflammatory disorders. Dr. Silverberg will be the director of clinical research for the department of dermatology and leading multiple upcoming clinical trials for novel treatments of atopic dermatitis, prurigo nodularis, chronic hand eczema, psoriasis and beyond.
The GW MFA Department of Dermatology offers comprehensive dermatology and cutaneous oncology services, including diagnosis and management of acne and related conditions, psoriasis, eczematous dermatitis, contact dermatitis, warts, skin neoplasia, melanoma cancer, cutaneous lymphoma, and pigmented lesions.
