For more than 40 years, GW's accredited CME program has supported physicians and other healthcare professionals in their pursuit of lifelong learning, practice improvement, and maintenance of licensure, certification, and credentialing. As an institution that supports training and education across many health-related disciplines, many of our programs offer continuing education credits to other professionals including pharmacists, nurses, physician assistants, physical therapists, and licensed social workers.

Mission 

The mission of The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences’ CME program is to improve the knowledge, skills, and performance of healthcare professionals through continuing professional education that:

  • Supports the SMHS mission in education, patient care, research, and health promotion.

  • Incorporates the educational needs of our learners.

  • Advances comprehension and implementation of evidenced-based concepts and skills to improve patient care.
