4th Year Advising Tip - June 3, 2014

June 3, 2014

Dear class,

Ee met with your class leadership last week, as we do every POM III day. among several things that we discussed was the status of the 6th Floor of the GW hospital.

As most of you are aware, much of the 6th floor has been converted to hospital space to accommodate new ICU facilities and other patient care needs.

HOWEVER, THE STUDENT (MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES) SPACES ON THE 6TH FLOOR ARE BEING PRESERVED.  THAT IS, THE BATHROOMS, LOCKER ROOMS, LOUNGE, COMPUTERS, AND SLEEP AREAS ARE NOT BEING MOVED.

Having said that, there are some on-going renovations to the area that will affect some of these spaces from time to time.  first, the front-side elevators will be closed from 6/9/14- 8/15/14.  so use the back elevators to get to the 6th floor during that time.

Most importantly, the men's locker room will be completely closed from 6/9/14 to 6/16/14, and the women's locker room from 6/16 to 6/17.  some lockers are also going to be moved and some new lockers installed, all by 7/1/14 (hopefully!!).

THEREFORE, WE NEED ALL THIRD YEAR STUDENTS (MEN AND WOMEN) TO CLEAN OUT THEIR LOCKERS BY 6/8 (sorry, we know that is next week).  lockers will remain available for use except for the dates above, but we need to audit all the lockers, repair lockers, and assign lockers to the rising third year students and PA students over the next several weeks.  IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REMOVE ITEMS FROM YOUR LOCKER, WE WILL RETAIN AND INVENTORY ANY ITEMS OF VALUE THAT WE FIND IN THE LOCKERS.  THEY CAN BE RETRIEVED FROM ROSS HALL FACILITIES MANAGEMENT ON B-1 LEVEL OF ROSS HALL BY JULY 3RD. THEY WILL BE DISCARDED AFTER THE 3RD.

IF YOU NEED LOCKER SPACE DURING THE FEW DAYS WHEN THE LOCKERS WILL BE CLOSED, OR IF YOUR LOCKER IS TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE DUE TO REPLACEMENT OR RELOCATION,  PLEASE SEE BEDIG GALLADIAN IN THE DEAN'S OFFICE.  WE CAN ASSIGN YOU A TEMPORARY LOCKER EITHER IN THE HOSPITAL OR IN ROSS HALL.
