Making the Most of Your Priority Work Plan

Thursday, August 9, 2018 - 2:00am to 3:00am
Since the release of the Nine Habits of Successful Comprehensive Cancer Control Coalitions (9 Habits), the evidence-based, comprehensive and interconnected characteristics of successful coalitions have helped maintain active and thriving coalitions across states, tribes, territories and Pacific Island Jurisdictions.
This summer, the Comprehensive Cancer Control National Partnership (CCCNP) is conducting a three-part "refresher" series on the 9 Habits. The topics were identified as most important to address based on feedback from Comprehensive Cancer Control (CCC) coalitions. The first webinar on Habit #1: Empowering Leadership took place on July 12 (stay tuned for the recording soon).
Continue your exploration of the 9 Habits with the second webinar in this three-part series, Making the Most of Your Priority Work Plan. In this webinar, we'll take a closer look at Habit 9, which emphasizes determining cancer plan priorities and developing effective work plans.
Our conversation will be led by Nikki Campbell, health education specialist for the State of Montana Comprehensive Cancer Control Program, manager for the Montana Cancer Coalition (MTCC) and state liaison for the Montana American Indian Women's Health Coalition.
Nikki will lead a nuts-and-bolts discussion around:
  • choosing and regularly updating work priorities,
  • identifying essential work plan components, and
  • examining how successful coalitions choose priorities, use work plans and track progress on work plans

In preparation for the webinar, we recommend that you check out the GW Cancer Center's Comp Cancer 101 Wiki, particularly the new "Implementation of State CCC Plan Goals" section.
