Webinar - Engaging LGBTQ Communities During Pride Season

Join us for our March webinar; part of a series the National LGBT Cancer Network will be presenting as a part of our Tobacco-Related Cancer Project. This project is designed to help CDC grantees and other organizations build skills in reaching and engaging this underserved population. This webinar will highlight ways to engage LGBTQ individuals in your work during the upcoming Pride season.

Webinar Presenters:

  • Dr. Scout, Deputy Director, National LGBT Cancer Network will frame the issue,
  • Adrian Shanker, Founder & Executive Director, Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center, Pennsylvania will discuss policy change and cancer awareness promotion at Pride events.
  • Alanna Biblow, Center for Tobacco Prevention and Control, Maryland Department of Health will talk about Maryland's use of Snapchat during Pride to promote cessation.
  • Joyce Swetlick, Director of Tobacco Cessation, North Carolina Department of Health will discuss the department's long-term engagement strategies with North Carolina Pride.
