Welcome to the Bukrinsky Lab

The Bukrinsky lab investigates the interactions between HIV and cholesterol, including the effects of HIV protein Nef on cholesterol homeostasis and the mechanisms behind the effects of genes regulating cholesterol metabolism on HIV replication, latency and pathogenesis. We also study the action of another HIV accessory protein, Vpr. The lab uses a wide range of approaches, including proteomics and lipidomics, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy and image analysis, real-time PCR.
