GW’s School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) is committed to building career pathways for those in health professions regardless geographic location. SMHS’s Health Sciences Programs enables students seeking a comprehensive, quality education from GW have no geographic barriers to receiving a first-rate education. SMHS has a long standing history of providing an education to our military serving overseas and have built a reputation for a rigorous academic curriculum delivered online.

Through the latest technologies and best practices, we seek to provide the highest quality academic experience for all GW students whether they are on campus or across the world. SMHS uses an online course administration system called Blackboard® as the platform for our classes. Our online degree programs are geared toward working professionals seeking to advance their careers. Our distance learners graduate with diplomas and transcripts identical to those of their on-campus counterparts.

Online courses are particularly flexible, enabling students to participate at any time during a seven-day, 24-hour time period, with each class "session" typically lasting one week.
