Welcome to the Department of Ophthalmology at The George Washington University. Our goal is to preserve and restore vision through excellence in the provision of eye care services, medical education, and clinical research.

Our physicians have earned national and international recognition as clinicians and educators. Our facilities allow for the dedicated treatment of a variety of eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and a host of related eye diseases.

In preparing for the future of eye care, our department provides outstanding resident education to train the ophthalmologists of tomorrow, while performing research that will influence the future management of eye disease.
